How can I make sure I give referral rewards for only getting orders from new customers?

We suggest you to offer reward to users whenever they get you a sales so they get a feeling that it is easy to win rewards. Sometimes you will want to give referral credit to user only if they get you a new customer (customer who has not ordered with you previously).

There are two ways to implement this functionality. First if you do not have Enterprise account with us then you can take benefit of the navigation path validation flag available in the "Edit Terms" page of your setup flow. Enable this flag and then use the script that is available for validation of navigation path on the new member registration of your page or otherwise always make this call and if user goes to login page (user has existing login credentials) then clear this cookie so even if the user makes purchase the referrer does not get credit.

If you are our Enterprise customer then we can use web services to authorize the order by directly interfacing with shopping cart and filter out existing customer orders and not offer any referral credit for such sales/sign ups.
