How big should be the incentive?
While deciding on your promotional offer, don’t be too concerned about abuse of your offer. When you setup the campaign, have a very attractive offer. Remember these users are getting you more sales (compare your resource investment with any other sales channel you have). Also note, you need to attract the same demographics of users who focus on quality over the cheapest deal (and hence choose your product/service) so often times you can’t get them excited with small gifts or gifts that have too many strings attached.
As with any marketing activity, you might need to iterate on a few parameters such as reward amount/banner images and find out exactly what works for your audience.
