What are the setup scripts that I need to use for a contest promotion?

If in your contest you want users to sign up for your opt in mailing list then you have following two options for showing the user registration form (with both these options after user registration we send email to user asking for opt-in confirmation).

• To start user registration with just an input field for email within the page so that after user enters email in this field you either show detailed registration form or directly a message asking to check confirmation email then you can use the script for the opt-in sign up email field
• For user to see the complete registration form within the page you should use script for new member sign up form to host inside an iframe.

After the user registration if you want user to navigate to different page or want to offer instant incentive then do make sure to enable callback functionality on "Edit Terms" page of your setup flow and implement the callback function that does the intended action.

If your contest is restricted to just opt-in signups then you do not need to use referral form widget but if you want user to refer to friends then you can include the referral banner or link script that shows referral form (similar to registration form you can use the script for referral promotion to host inside an iframe and then have the referral form directly show within the page). If you want to have an instant incentive for user for sharing referral then make sure to enable callback after referral and add callback function that fulfills the instant incentive (e.g. navigation to a special page or clearing cookies to allow user play a game again).

If you have referral promotion as part of your contest then you will need to use landing page script on the page linked in the referral messages to make sure you can track the visits and give credit to the user who gets you these referral visits.

Finally, you can use the leader board widget script to showcase the users who have brought in most referral visits to your site.

Please note, by default, contest promotion only tracks referral visits and ranks user based on the visitor count. If you would like to have contest based on sales or sign up data then you can use reward points campaign template and user points tracking script on your order confirmation pages to accurately log referral sales/sign ups brought in by users.
