When do users receive coupon (or reward points) for signing up to my opt-in email list?

Users do not get reward just for submitting the email because when users require to just submit email to get coupons people will always enter fake email. So the reward is only given to users when they click on the opt-in confirmation they get in their email. Only after confirming will the opt-in user receive reward (or points).
